Wild elephant kills farmer in Komarada

Vizianagaram: A herd of wild elephants stormed into Parvathipuram agency from Odisha forests, creating panic among the villagers and killed a farmer. 

The victim has been identified as N Pakeeru, 62, of Kemisila panchayat in Komarada mandal. 

The pachyderms have been roaming between Komarada, Kurupam, G L Puram mandalam and destroying banana orchards and sugar cane plantations. 

The elephants attacked Pakeeru when he went to see his fields. Locals shifted the seriously injured Pakeeru to area hospital in Parvathipuram, where he succumbed to his injuries.
