GMC keen to get Swachh Survekshan rank

Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation is in the race to get below one hundred rank in the Swachh Survekshan Survey conducted by the government of India. 

Swachh Andhra Corporation is giving necessary assistance and cooperation and guiding the corporation to get this rank. The GMC has prepared plans to achieve cent percent results in the garbage collection to improve sanitation and make Guntur a clean city.  

According to the sources in the GMC, Swachh Survekshan Survey was started on January 4. It will continue till January 31.The GMC is in the race of Swachh Survekshan since  2017. 

During the 2018 the GMC got 118th rank. At present 4040 cities in the country are in the race to get better rank in the Swachh Survekshan.

GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar said that the public health department officials have taken all the steps to improve the sanitation and door-to-door collection of garbage and segregation of dry and wet garbage.
