Kailasagiri to get more tourist attractions

Visakhapatnam: Kailasagiri Hilltop Park, the icon of Visakhapatnam, will shortly emerge as one of the international tourist hot spots with more attractions.

As part of Andhra Pradesh Disaster Recovery Project works, the State government planned to develop Kailasagiri Hilltop Park as an international tourist destination. Kailasagiri, the nature blessed Hilltop Park spread in 380 acres, developed by the Visakhapatnam Metro Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has emerged as biggest tourist destination with nature blessed viewpoints including the Bay of Bengal and thick green hillocks.

The State government has planned to develop Kailasagiri including Sky-Tower, Zipliner, Sports and Games facilities, Adventure Park, Amphitheater, and a special zone for the children.  The VMRDA would take up the development works under the APDRP. Children play areas, cable car, toy train, ropeway, Lord Mahasiva, and Parvathi statues, horse riding and International Telugu Museum were already enthralling the tourists.

According to VMRDA Commissioner P Basanth Kumar, the government has already approved the works and given its nod to initiate the works. Basanth Kumar said all the arrangements are being made to kick-start the works for the new tourist attractions in the coming February. Once the new attractions added to the Kailasagiri, it would become an international tourist hot spot, the commissioner said.
