Aero Sports Festival gets good response at Sitampeta

Srikakulam: The three-day Aero Sports Festival held from January 13 gets good response at Sitampeta Agency in Srikakulam district. Considering the huge response from people, the government extended it to one more day i.e January 16.

Visitors and tourists from across Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts are showing keen interest to take part in the festival, particularly youth from various professional colleges across the district have paid visit to festival during Sankranti festival.

For para motors riding, 310 persons participated. In para sailing event, in total 220 youth attended and for hot air balloon, 70 persons took part in the event. To witness the festival, in total 30,000 tourists have participated in the event. Response is also good through online booking facility and one can book tickets through website itdaseethampetatourism.com.

“We have visited the festival and enjoyed a lot for one-day during Aero Sports Festival,” said Chowdari Vamsi Krishna, a B Pharmacy student. With the Aero Sports Festival, other tourist sports in the Agency also came to know to public. ITDA Project Officer (PO) Lotheti Shiva Sankar also initiated steps from the beginning for tourism development in the Agency and Aero Sports Festival was also conducted successfully with his hard work and novel idea.

Other tourist spots will also be developed in the Agency with Rs 8.35 crore. NTR Jala Vihar, NTR children and adventure parks, Mettuguda, Sunnapugedda and Donubhai water falls, Polla and Jagathipalli view points and hill areas will be improved soon with these funds.

“With an aim to attract more tourists to agency and to provide employment to local youth, tourist spots will be improved by providing all infrastructure facilities. The grand success of Aero Sports Festival is giving us a big boost to us,” said ITDA project officer (PO) Lotheti Shiva Sankar.
