Andhra University launches M Tech in cyber security for defence staff

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao assured to provide complete academic assistance to any programme in the defence sector. The Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the training classes on cyber security to defence employees at Computers Systems Engineering department on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the VC said the varsity was rendering academic services as part of social responsibility and dealing with defence sector in research, consultancy and other training programmes and launched M Tech in cyber security stream.

Attending to the inaugural sessions of the programme, Joint Secretary of Defence Ministry Hari Prasad said the new programme being offered by the university was more useful to retired defence employees and officers to lead their rest of the lives. 

NCC Colonel Amith Sharma explained the need for awareness and education in cyber security. The programme is very useful to the defence sector employees, he added. Andhra University College of Engineering Principal Prof P Srinivasa Rao informed the special courses being offered from the college. Head, Computer Systems Engineering Nageswara Rao and Dr Vallikumari were also present.
