Nellore: Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz said that they are going to construct a Shaadi Manzil in rural constituency shortly. He inspected various sites for construction of the Manzil in Gandhi Nagar, Kothur, Telugu Ganga Camp Colony and other areas in rural limits on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, the Mayor said that they had allocated municipal schools for performing Muslim marriages in the city. He also lamented that Muslims residing on the outskirts of the city are unable to utilise Shaadi Manzil located in Nellore city to perform functions and marriages. “We are planning to construct a Shaadi Manzil in rural limits with latest equipment and better amenities.

Nellore Municipal Corporation provides Shaadi Manzil at nominal rent to the Muslims for their needs,” said the Mayor. We would place the proposal before Minister Narayana and District Collector R Mutyala Raju for completing the works, he added. Commissioner S Alim Basha and others were also present.

Further, the Mayor interacted with Imams at All India Imams Council meet at Bara Shaheed Dargah in the city. Aziz informed that they would strive hard to provide house sites to Imams working in 150 mosques within the Corporation limits.
