Trade unions strike ends with human chain protest

Anantapur: The 2-day strike by trade unions which entered the second day concluded here with a massive human chain at the busy Saptagiri Circle on Wednesday. Trade Unions AITUC, CITU, AIFTU, INTUC and YSRTUC unions participated in the human chain.

AITUC District Secretary J Raja Reddy and YSRTUC District President Adinarayana Reddy had a dig at both the Central and State governments for making common man’s life miserable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to deliver on his promises including bringing back black money, labour law reforms, GST and currency scrap.

They alleged that profit making Postal department, railways and banks were being privatised and effecting disinvestment. They demanded fixation of minimum wages as Rs 18,000 per month. The speakers alleged that the Central and State governments had betrayed the people and were 
implementing anti-people policies.
