Woman’s leg severed after being crushed by lorry
Visakhapatnam: A 30-year-old woman lost her legs after an over speeding lorry hit the two-wheeler and crushed her legs near Pisinikada village under Kasimkota limits here on Wednesday. According to police, the victim has been identified as K Triveni, a resident of Gajuwaka.
The woman was heading to her relatives’ house for celebrating Sankranti festival along with her husband on two-wheeler. After reaching to Pisinikada village, an over speeding lorry which was travelling in the same direction, hit their two-wheeler from behind.
Under the impact, the couple fell and Triveni, who was on a pillion, fallen on to right side of the road and the lorry went across her two legs, while husband sustained minor injuries. Highway patrolling police rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to NTR Hospital at Anakapalli. Later she was shifted to KGH in the city for better treatment. Police registered a case.
