Attack on Jagan case: Accused sent to RJY central prison
Vijayawada: The accused in the attack on Opposition leader and YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport, J Srinivas was sent to Rajahmundry Central jail after the authorities at the Vijayawada District Jail expressed inability to provide security to the accused.
After the remand time was over, Srinivas was presented in the Metropolitan Session Judge court which is also acting as National Investigation Agency (NIA) court. Metropolitan Sessions in-charge Judge K Partha Sarathi enquired with the accused Srinivas whether he faced any problem with the NIA officers for which the latter replied in the negative. However, he complained that the jail officials had forcibly taken away the 22-page letter written by him.
The advocate on behalf Srinivas, Salim told the court that there was threat to the life of the accused. However, the accused Srinivas stated that there was no such threat to his life.
Meanwhile, the Judge postponed the hearing to January 23 on the petition filed by the NIA that the SIT officials were not cooperating with them. He also asked the SIT officials to file the counter on the petition.
