Cycle rally to save fuel organised in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: To create awareness among the people on preserving petroleum and natural gas, a ’Saksham Cycle Rally’ was organised by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) here on Sunday.

The rally was held in response to the call given by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Around 200 people participated in the cycle rally.

The rally was flagged off at Indira Gandhi Municipal stadium by Deputy Mayor of the city G Venkata Ramana. It stated from the stadium and passed  through Red circle, RIO Office junction, civil court junction, CVR School, Hotel Minerva, Museum Road and Sub Collector’s office.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkata Ramana said that everyone should strive for the conservation of petroleum and natural gas and awareness should be created among the youth on the utilization of petroleum products which would result in the development of the country’s economy.

HPCL chief regional manager M Venugopal said that the awareness rally was organised at 200 major cities and Union territories across the country.

Petroleum companies representatives, employees, workers, NGOs , students, cycle club members and others participated in the rally.
