Amaravati: TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday suspended Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy from the TDP. He took the decision at a review meeting of Rajampet Assembly constituency held at Undavalli. Naidu warned that, “There is no room for anybody in the party who trouble the cadre,” while announcing the suspension of the leader.

Before taking the decision to suspend Mallikarjuna Reddy, Naidu took the opinions and feedback from the party leaders and activists representing the constituency, who attended to the meeting. When asked about the decision of the cadre, all of them shouted loudly by saying that Mallikarjuna Reddy must be suspended from the party.

All the TDP leaders and cadre unanimously accepted the resolution to suspend the legislator, as he has been moving close to the YSRCP and harming the interests of the TDP in the constituency.

Addressing the cadre at the meeting, Naidu said that he made Mallikarjuna Reddy as MLA and also encouraged him by offering the post of party whip and also gave a good position to his father in the party.

Despite enjoying all these privileges during the last four-and-half years, Mallikarjuna Reddy betrayed the party and cheated the cadre, Naidu expressed anger.

He further said, “I will not bother on win or defeat. But, I will not tolerate indiscipline in the party.” Naidu also announced that Ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Adinarayana Reddy and Kadapa district TDP president R Srinivasa Reddy will coordinate with the party cadre and take care of the Rajampet constituency needs.

He said the leaders come and go but the party workers are permanent assets to the party. “Party is eternal. Cadre is everlasting. Leaders may come and go,” he observed.

Naidu said that the State government had taken steps for development of Kadapa district during the last four-and-half years. The people, who enjoyed the State government’s welfare schemes and were deriving benefit from the development projects, will vote for the TDP in the elections and the party will win again in the constituency and in the district too, he assured the cadre.

He said that the people will teach a befitting lesson to Mallikarjuna Reddy for his attitude. He said that he will appoint a dynamic and strong leader as in-charge to the Rajampet constituency very soon.

Meanwhile, MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy met YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at his residence at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening and later announced that he would join YSRCP on January 31.
