Guntur: Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council Ummareddy Venkateswarulu said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has no right to give 5% reservation to the Kapus from the 10% of the EBC reservations given by the Centre.

Addressing a press conference in Guntur city on Wednesday, he alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to create disputes among different castes for gaining political mileage.

He said Naidu was wooing the Kapus for their votes in the coming elections and alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to cheat the Kapus once again.

Ummareddy further said that Chandrababu Naidu had hiked the old-age pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per month after going through the YSRCP’s Navaratnalu scheme.

The senior YSRCP leader pointed out that Naidu was not extending cooperation to the NIA in its probe into the attack on YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

He questioned why the TDP government was opposing NIA investigation into the attack on Jagan at Visakhapatnam Airport. He said the voters will teach a lesson to the TDP in the 2019 Assembly elections.
