National Investigation Agency files charge-sheet against accused in attack on Jagan case
Vijayawada: National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed the charge sheet against J Srinivas, accused in the attack on Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy in the NIA Court here on Wednesday. The NIA informed the court that they would continue the investigation.
However, the NIA Court Judge instructed the staff not to reveal the contents of the charge sheet to anyone. The contents in the charge sheet would be revealed on January 25, when the case would come to the bench again. Meanwhile, the NIA Court admitted the petition filed by the NIA stating that the Special Investigation Team of AP police is not cooperating with the investigation.
However, the public prosecutor contended that when the petition challenging handing over of the case to NIA was pending before the High Court, they could not submit the investigation details and documents to the NIA.
Meanwhile, Srinivasa Rao, the counsel for the accused Srinivas, filed a contempt petition against the NIA officials stating that they did not follow the instructions of the Court to allow the advocate to be present while interrogating him.
