Vizianagaram: MP P Ashok Gajapathiraju on Wednesday stated that the TDP government in the State is committed to the welfare of BCs. Speaking at the North Andhra BCs seminar, the MP stated that the BCs came into limelight because of efforts of former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao only.

He said that NTR has encouraged and supported the various downtrodden communities and made them as leaders. MLAs, MPs and MLCs were emerged from poor communities due to efforts of TDP, he added. He stated the government was spending thousands of crores on various schemes targeting the BCs.

Kapu Corporation Chairman Kottapalli Subbarayudu stated that the party never considered the BCs as vote bank and they were recognised as game changers and future of the state. “We should not believe the words and assurances given by the Opposition leaders and we need to be united once again before the elections and cast in favour of TDP,” he said.

He said another BCs seminar will be held in Rajahmundry on January 27. Minister for mines and geology RVSK Ranga Rao told that NTR has given top priority to BCs and the present government is following the footsteps of NTR.
