Tirupati: A day after the decision of his party against any truck with ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh, Congress senior leader and former Union minister Dr Chinta Mohan wanted the party to have an alliance with YSR Congress Party.

Mohan, though stated that it was (the tie up with YSRCP) his personal view, in the same breath said that he would see his party leaders agree for the alliance provided if YSRCP too inclined.

“I will take the responsibility of convincing my party high command for the alliance with YSRCP,’’ he said asserting that the alliance between the two parties is ‘natural alliance”.

Speaking to media here on Thursday, Mohan welcomed the state party which met in Vijayawada on Wednesday deciding against going with the ruling TDP. In a candid manner, he said that heart in heart most of the Congress workers and leaders in the state are averse to the party alliance with TDP as it may not a natural one.

The former union minister who enjoys the confidence of Gandhi family in a praising tone said that YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was the son of their beloved leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy one of the tall leaders of the party in the state and alliance with Jagan would naturally acceptable.

Mohan also favoured the party going with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, which makes a formidable combination in the state and justified it on the ground that he too has some link with Congress as his family i.e. brother was with Congress and was its MP. Congress state secretary K Pramilamma and others were present.
