Srikakulam district officials celebrate National Voters’ Day in a novel way
Srikakulam: The district officials set a new record in conducting National Voters’ Day (NVD) on Friday in a novel way to create awareness among public.
As per directions from Joint Collector KVN Chakradhara Babu, a total of 8,320 students of various degree, PG and professional colleges assembled as groups in the form ‘READY TO VOTE’ at Government Degree College ground to motivate youth to cast their vote and to create awareness among people on importance of vote in democracy.
International Wonder Book of Records south India coordinator, Swarna Sri, Guinness book of records India chief coordinator B Narendra Goud recorded the details and certified that it is a novel activity. Limca book of records representatives also confirmed in principle to register the event as a new record. Total 150 physically challenged persons also formed as election polling symbol on their tri-cycles.
ZP chairperson Ch Dhanalaxmi, MP K Rammohan Naidu, MLA, G Laxmidevi, Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy lauded efforts of JC KVN Chakradhara Babu in planning the activity in a novel way. They stated that this kind of events will help in creating awareness among people on importance of vote in democracy. They said that they are expecting 90 percent of votes will be polled in the district in coming elections.
All arrangements will be made available for free and fair elections in the district for coming general elections, the Joint Collector explained and requested people not to avoid elections. their vote as an important activity.
