Vijayawada: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) intensified the investigation into the murder of pharmacy student Ayesha. The CBI officials have reportedly prepared a list of the police officers who investigated the case 11 years back and wish to interrogate them from various angles.
It may be recalled that the investigation records were destroyed by the court staff against which the CBI filed a criminal case also. It has become a Herculean task for the CBI to move further into the details of investigation conducted 11 years ago.
Ayesha was murdered on December 26, 2007 in a hostel near Ibrahimpatnam on the outskirts of Vijayawada. It has been felt that the police messed up the case and even the Special Investigation Team was also not in a position to conclude the investigation. At this juncture, the High Court at Hyderabad gave instructions to the CBI to thoroughly investigate the case and find out the culprits.
Consequently, the CBI officials prepared a list of at least 15 police officers who were involved in the investigation at that time and getting ready to grill them to find out the truth.
