Pawan Kalyan stresses on united fight for Special Category Status

Guntur: Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan stressed the need for a united fight against the Centre for achieving Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh and fulfilment of the assurances mentioned in the AP Bifurcation Act.  

He felt that development was possible with the SCS alone. “Political parties may go to polls separately, but they should fight unitedly to mount pressure on the Centre to achieve SCS,” he said while addressing a public meeting at LEM High School grounds here on Sunday after inaugurating Jana Sena party office at Ring Road in the city.

Stating that Jana Sena was prepared to fight for SCS, he said he was fighting for the future generations. He expressed confidence that the party would win the upcoming Assembly election and come to power in Amaravati. 

He said he was against to the hereditary politics and expressed serious concern over increase of corruption in politics. He said he was ready to bring change in the political system if the people want it and cooperate with him. “If I do want only power, I would have opted for MP post or some other post. Would not have established a political party. My aim is to ensure bright future for the coming generations,” he said.   

Pawan Kalyan said YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy wants to rule the state for 30 years and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu desires to come to power again. “But I am here to change in political system,” he declared.  

Claiming that hurdles were being created for his public meeting, he said he would not be cowed down by such attempts and no one can stop him. 
He announced candidature of Thota Chandrasekhar for Guntur Lok Sabha, Nadendla Manohar for Tenali Assembly constituencies. Jana Sena leader Thota Chandrasekhar, Nadendla Manohar, former minister Ravela Kishore Babu were among those present.
