Strengthen Congress ahead of polls: Rosaiah

Guntur: Former Governor of Tamil Nadu K Rosaiah urged the party leaders to strive hard to get Congress party into power at the Centre and the State. He suggested the senior leaders to lead the youth and strengthen it from village level.

Addressing the party activists meet held at the NVR Kalyana Mandam in Tenali town on Sunday, he called upon the party rank and file to highlight the failures of both BJP-led government at the Centre and TDP-led government in the state.

He stressed on the need to defeat the both parties in the coming elections. He appealed to leaders to encourage the youth and guide them in proper direction to strengthen the party. Stating that the Congress committed to ideology, he said the was party not launched to gain power. He reminded that the Congress led the freedom struggle and liberated India from the British rule.

Rosaiah said he will continue in the Congress as long as his health condition permits him. He urged the leaders to explain the developmental works taken up during the Congress tenure both at the Centre and in the State. Later, the party leaders felicitated Rosaiah. Earlier former Union minister J D Seelam met Rosaiah and discussed about the party matters.
