Air India to operate late night flights from Vizag soon
Visakhapatnam: Director Commercial and Board Member, Air India Limited, Amitab Singh has agreed to operate late night flights from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai and Delhi. Amitab Singh also agreed to consider increase in frequency of flights from Visakhapatnam to Port Blair and increase in quota of seats in Dubai flight.
A delegation from Andhra Pradesh Air Travelers Association representatives led by its president Dr Kumar Raja, vice-presidents O Naresh Kumar and D S Varma met Captain Amitab Singh in Mumbai on Monday along with Daggubati Purandeswari, independent director, Air India Limited, and urged for late night flight service from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai and Delhi.
The delegation explained the need for operating late night flight to Mumbai and Delhi from Visakhapatnam as these services were necessary to facilitate international travelers to have access to flights from Mumbai and Delhi so as to continue their travel to other countries.
Naresh Kumar and Kumar Raja stressed the need to Captain Amitab Singh to increase in frequency of flights from Vizag–Port Blair as there was enough demand and increase the quota of seats for Vizag–Dubai flight (via Hyderabad) as there was a limited quota of 50 seats.
“The Director Commercial of Air India Limited has agreed with the points and assured to start late night flights from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai and Delhi. This will boost the international connections from Visakhapatnam,” Naresh Kumar said.
