Centre releases 900 cr to AP for drought relief

Amaravati: The Central government on Tuesday released an assistance of Rs 900 crore to drought-hit Andhra Pradesh, informed Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh on his official twitter. It has approved Rs 949.49 crore and Rs 4714.28 crore to drought-hit Karnataka and Maharashtra respectively for Kharif 2018-19 season.

BJP leader G V L Narasimha Rao said that the Central government was generous towards AP and released the funds for farmers who faced distress due to drought. He alleged that the TDP government has been misusing the public money for organising protests against the Centre.
