They inspected labs, infrastructure in the college, hostels, libraries, seminar halls and recommended for additional seats. Srikakulam Government Medical College will start PG courses with 11 PG medical seats from the next academic year, Anantapur Medical College is likely to get 16 seats and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences at Ongole 8 PG seats.

The MCI informed the same to the Director of Medical Education Dr K Babji. When the teaching hospital will get more PG medical seats, the hospitals will render better medical services with the help of PG medical students and render super specialty services to the patients. The poor patients will be benefited.

Speaking to The Hans India, Director of Medical Education Dr K Babji said, "AP will get 35 additional PG medical seats at RIMS in Ongole, Anantapur and Srikakulam government medical colleges. We got communication from the MCI. We are expecting some more PG seats and waiting for communication."

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is focusing on improving infrastructure in the government hospitals to provide better medical services to the poor patients. When the infrastructure is improved, more outpatients visit the government hospitals.

Outpatients in government hospitals are steadily increasing for the last four years. Taking this into consideration, the government is filling the vacant doctor posts which led to increase in PG medical seats.
