BC welfare possible with TDP, claims Nukasani
Ongole: Telugu Desam Party organising secretary and vice-chairman of Prakasam Zilla Parishad Nukasani Balaji announced that it is once again proved that BC welfare is possible only with the TDP.
Speaking to the media at the district party office, Balaji said the TDP government has announced various welfare programmes for the backward classes in the state.
He said that the state government is enhancing the 11 federations into corporations along with the establishment of 13 new corporations for yadava, weavers, goud and others.
He said that the government is also enhancing the NTR Vidyonnati scheme limit for BCs from Rs 10 lakh to 15 lakhs equally with the SCs and STs for study in foreign universities.
He announced that the government has also announced the allotment of 25 percent of plots at APIIC layouts to BCs and one-third of it to the women entrepreneurs.
He asked the BC youth to utilize the newly announced 25 percent subsidy for the vehicle loans and develop a career in the transport field.
He said that the government is enhancing the subsidy for yarn from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 for weavers and tonsuring charges for the Nayee Brahmin at Tirumala for Rs 5 to Rs 25.
Announcing that the government is going to pay the premium for the sheep and goats, he said that it will save the shepherds from loss due to their death for various reasons.
He also said that the government has enhanced the free electricity to weavers and salon operating Nayee Brahmins to 150 units while for the goldsmiths to 100 units.
He informed that the government has increased the eligible age limit for receiving loans from 50 years to 60 years for the BCs in the state.
Comparing the funds released for BC welfare by the TDP government from 2014 to the Congress government from 2004 to 2014, Balaji said that the present government sanctioned Rs 41000 crore under BC Sub-plan while it was only Rs 3000 crore earlier.
He said that the TDP government spent Rs 2963 crore for scholarships while it was just Rs 487 crore in Congress government.
He said that the present government spent Rs 28472 crore by the corporations but it was only 88 crore in the earlier government.
He said that the opposition parties were trying to obstruct the welfare programmes while the government was committed to help the BCs in the state.
