Develop creative ideas, students exhorted

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that students have to develop innovative ideas for unearthing new findings. The Minister inaugurated Inspire Manak Science fair at St John’s School in Santhapet here on Tuesday. 

The Minister inspected the exhibits demonstrated by the students of various schools across the district. Speaking at the meeting, Narayana said that the State government has been encouraging students for their innovative projects. He also said that technology is being updated frequently in the world and teachers have to encourage students to discover new ideas that are really useful for the society, said the Minister. 

He explained that the State government has been utilising technology with Real Time Governance to monitor the situation in all districts. He said there is a need to increase number of scientists in the country. Mayor SK Abdul Aziz stated that students have to check the innovations whether they are useful for public or not. State government would support such innovations if they are really beneficial to the community, he added. 

District Science Officer Radha Rani said that they had conducted 6 INSPIRE science exhibitions in the district. She explained that they had applied for 2,500 projects through online. “We have got 435 science projects approved during last year and the district stands 4th place in 2018 at state-level.

This year we have applied for 3,200 projects under INSPIRE and got 589 exhibitions accepted. We have been expecting 58 projects to be taken up at state-level and 5 exhibits at national-level this year,’ said Radha Rani. She explained that teachers from both government and private institutions have been encouraging students to discern findings. 

Students across the district have participated in the Inspire Manak science exhibition and displayed their projects. DEO K Samuel, Former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and others were present.
