Update: 2019-01-30 06:00 IST

Kakinada: The  hardware park which was allotted to Kakinada  by Union government  during  the first budget in the year  2014, still has no traces of its execution.  In the  years between 2014 to 2016 there was serious search for 50 acres of  suitable site around Kakinada. Even the APIIC authorities have said that they were on the job  for a suitable site

When the issue of the hardware park allotted to Kakinada was brought to the notice of the then Union minister for IT Ravishnakar Prasad by the Hans India reporter during his visit to Kakinada in 2017, the minister was not aware of the hardware park allocation to Kakinada.

The local BJP leaders who attended the prograamme along with the minister clarified that the particular issue falls under commerce ministry which was then headed by Nirmala Sitaraman. After the minister’s visit nothing was heard about the hardware park .

Former VC of JNTU-K, Prof. Allam Appa Rao said that unlike software, hardware provides  plenty of opportunities to BTech graduates, MTech holders, diploma holders, science graduates and even graduates of other branches.

When contacted East Godavari collector Kartikeya Mishra disclosed that no file relating to Hardware Park is pending with the district administration.

Two site allocations of 25 acres each were cleared, one for  Institute of packaging  and another for institute of Foreign Trade in KSEZ  at Uppada Kothapalli mandal, the collector clarified.
