Amaravati Design Festival inaugurated at Mangalagiri

Vijayawada: The three-day Amaravati Design Festival was inaugurated at CK Convention near Mangalagiri of Guntur district on Friday.

Institute of Indian Interior Designer (IIID) Amaravati chapter with the cooperation of APCRDA is conducting the Amaravati Design Festival.

IIID president Pratap Jadhav said architecture students could update their knowledge by observing architectural changes globally. 

Famous architect from South Africa Peter Rich advised the architects to move out of comfort zone to become architectural innovations according the changing choices of the public with quality, facility and attraction.

IIID Amaravati chapter chairman Pavan Suryadevara said that the Amaravati would be established as a world class new capital city hence it gives opportunities to architects and architect students to learn about the new innovations and designs and ADF conducting workshops to the students. 

He said that students from architecture colleges attending the festival and their designs would be displayed. 

Architecture students of seven architecture colleges in which four from Vijayawada and three from Visakhapatnam participating in the workshops which is giving chance to them to hone their architectural skills. 

He said that eminent designers, social thinkers, academicians and famous architects would deliver speeches under Design Talks programme.  

Pavan further said that traditional handicrafts of AP State would be displayed under Hastha Kala Utsavam on February 2 and 3. 

He added that famous architect Norman Foster will address the gathering about the Amaravati establishment from grassroots level and famous architects from Mumbai,  Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and other places would address the gatherings.

IIID Amaravati chapter treasurer Jai Desai, ADF 2019 convener Mallikarjun Pawaskar and others spoke on the occasion.
