Congress sees threat to nation’s integrity from BJP
Kadapa: Describing 2019 general elections as a war between Mahatma Gandhi and his killer Nathuram Vinayak Godse, Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president N Tulasi Reddy said that this is high time for people of the country to be cautious in electing the Union government otherwise the integrity of the nation would be in danger.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Tulasi Reddy said BJP was responsible for communal violence by pursuing hardcore Hindu fundamentalism in the country. He said that people of the country were feeling insecure in all fronts following undemocratic procedures being adopted by the BJP-led NDA government.
Stating that Congress was not alone responsible for bifurcation of the state, he said it had carried out the division only after taking the consent of other parties including BJP, and TDP. He said that Congress was committed to its promise of Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh and Rahul Gandhi would affix his first signature on the file immediately after he was voted to power in ensuing elections.
The PCC vice president said that the economy of the state was in crisis because of the indiscriminate loans taken by the state government, which would severely impact the life of common people in the coming days.
However, he refused to comment on prospect of Congress joining in alliance with TDP saying such policy matters should be left to party high command as PCC was only authorised to implement the policy decisions of AICC. Tulasi Reddy said that the aspirants who want to contest the election in AP should submit applications from February 7 for verification. DCC president Sk Nazir Ahmad and others were present.
