ONGC ED D M R Sekhar inaugurates Art Expo

Rajamahendravaram: ONGC Executive Director-Asset Manager D M R Sekhar said paintings of school children help us infer how future citizens are thinking about the world around them.

Inaugurating the 14th All India KV School Art Exhibition at KV School, ONGC Base Complex here on Saturday, he said that their imagination would also help the elders to take corrective measures for contemporary concerns. 

Lauding the efforts of ONGC KV School authorities, he said the ONGC was committed to make the school comprehensively digital, improve the infrastructure, conduct special coaching for competitive exams. 

He exhorted the KV School to become number one school amongst all the KVs in India. Sekhar commended the efforts of K K Sinha, Principal, drawing teacher Kallepally Subbaro who curated the exhibition and coordinated with All India KV Schools. 

The ONGC KV School is conducting the All India Art Exhibition of KV schools for the past 14 years. It’s the only school which is conducting such huge exercise in India. A total of 372 KV Schools in India have sent around 8,000 entries. 

An entry from Tehran (Iran) was the highlight of the exhibition. The exhibition featured oil paintings, water colours, crayons, glass paintings covering scenery, Swachh Bharat, festivals of India, wildlife, global warming, water scarcity, vehicular pollution, mother and family, abstract themes, paintings on glass and acrylic.

The inaugural function was attended by P K Pandey, Group General Manager, Durga Bhavani, president, ONGC Officers Mahila Samiti and K K Sinha, Principal KV School.
