50% Iskcon Kondaveedu project work completed
Guntur: Fifty per cent of Iskcon-Kondaveedu Project has been completed. Iskcon is constructing Vennamuddla Gopala Krishna Golden temple at Chengiskhanpet under Yadlapadu mandal of Guntur district. So far, 108 mandirams have been constructed.
The significance of dasavatharams will be displayed with the idols in mandirams and 70 per cent of the main mandiram work has been completed.
A guest house and four mandirams were constructed. The guest house will provide shelter for elderly people.
Land scaping work is going on for the construction of remaining buildings. The Iskcon has planned to complete the first phase of project at the earliest. After completion of first phase of project, visitors will be allowed to see the Iskcon temple. In the second phase, they will construct Gurukula Pathasala with international standards for future generations. They will impart Vedic knowledge.
A Golasala will be set up with all the native cow breeds to create awareness among people. The project is aimed to protect native cow breeds. They will take up Kondaveedu Spiritual Heritage Project also.
Iskcon-Kondaveedu Project in-charge Ram Murari Das said, "We will complete the first phase of the Iskcon temple by January next year. First we will start Gosala and will develop it as a cow sanctuary in future. We will construct an old age home and create awareness on India's cultural heritage."
