Govt aims to undo social inequalities: Yanamala Ramarkrishnudu
Rampachodavaram: The state government is committed to improve the economic status of weaker sections with an aim to eliminate social inequalities, said Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
Participating in the distribution of pensions and financial assistance to SHG women at Government Junior College in Rampachodavaram town on Saturday evening, the minister said that initially 54 lakh people in the state were being covered under the revised pension and Rs 14,000 crore was being spent because of the recent decision of the state government to double the pension, the minister said.
N Chinarajappa, deputy CM who participated in the programme, said that State was committed for women empowerment and hence the distribution of financial assistance to DWCRA women.
In this connection, the ministers handed over cheques worth Rs 674 crore to SHG women under Pasupu Kumkuma.
V Rajeshwari, MLA Rampachodavaram, Nishant Kumar and Abhishek Kishore, ITDA project officers, Sub-Collector Vinod Kumar, and a large number of women from both Rampachodavaram and Chintur attended.
