Acharya Nagarjuna University to get new Vice Chancellor soon

Guntur: The search committee of the State government, will meet on February 7 to recommend the name for the post of vice- chancellor, for Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU).  

The committee will examine  the names of the Professors who applied for the posts of the V-C. Based on their experience and merits, it will recommend  three names to Chief Minister N Chandrbabu Naidu  who will finalise one name and send it to the Governor ESL Narasimhan for his clearance.

ANU former vice-chancellor Prof. A Rajendra Prasad, Prof. G V S Anjaneyulu, Prof.N Koteswara Rao, ANU rector Prof. K John Paul are in the race for the post. Prof. Rajedra Prasad who completed one term has taken some controversial decisions in appointing the lecturers in architecture college and guest faculty in the university. Some persons lodged complaints against his decisions to the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. 

The  professors who applied for the V-C post were making rounds to the ministers and other leaders seeking their support and cooperation to get the post.

The government decided to complete the process for the Vice Chancellor appointment before release of MLC election schedule. Likewise, the  search committee will also meet on February 8, to recommend the name for the post of Vice-Chancellor for Krishna University.
