Eye check-up camp for drivers held

Chittoor: The Chittoor police in coordination with the Transport department has organised an eye camp for private vehicle and APSRTC drivers at Police Parade Grounds here on Thursday. After inaugurating eye camp, superintendent of police (SP) Vikrant Patil advised drivers to check their eyes periodically for clear vision. “Accidents occur within fraction of seconds if drivers have eye defect,” he stated. 

More than 800 drivers underwent eye check-up. Doctors of Chennai-based Sankara Eye Hospital and Chittoor Apollo Hospital have examined drivers and prescribed medicines to them. According to doctors, majority drivers are suffering from eye diseases. Deputy transport commissioner Ch Pratap, ASP Krishnarjuna Rao, doctors and police officials were present.
