Forest officers study tour begins in Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh Forest Academy (APFA) Director JSN Murthi flagged off a bus for the study tour of the third batch of section officers of the Forest Department at the academy here on Thursday.
As many as 30 section officers under the aegis of Academy Deputy Director MV Prasad Rao are going on the tour.
Later, Academy Director JSN Murthi has said that the study tour benefits a lot to the forest section officers who undertake the field study. The government was spending money for the study tours and urged section officers to avail this opportunity judiciously.
The team visits Pavitravanam at Annavaram, Etikoppaka which is famous for making wooden toys, zoo at Visakhapatnam, eco tourism at Kambalakonda, mining operations in Vizianagaram district, coffee and tea gardens at Ananthagiri and S Kota and also study about the techniques relating to harvesting and silviculture etc.
The team will also participate in a discussion with the divisional forest officer at Chintapalli, and later pay a visit to Hydro power project at Sileru and waterfalls at Motugudem. Later the members visit ITC at Bhadrachalam and returns.
