Gutkha worth 3 lakh seized in Guntur district

Guntur: The police on Thursday seized banned gutkha stocks worth Rs 3 lakh packed in the gunny bags and kept in a poultry in Turakapalem under Narasaraopet mandal of Guntur district. 

According to police, on a tip off, they raided the poultry and seized the stocks of the banned gutkha stocks.

They suspect that some persons are getting stocks to Narasaraopet and illegally transporting to other places to make a fast buck.

Sub-Inspector M Shafi warned that sale of banned is a crime and made it clear that they will take stern action. 

If anybody sells banned gutkha, the department will book cases and take stern action against them, he said.
