Lawyers demand house sites, health cards
Visakhapatnam: The advocates in the district on Thursday staged a protest near District Court demanding that the government allocate house sites and implementation of other benefits.
During the protest, the lawyers including women demanded health cards for them. The lawyers also appealed to the government for setting up of High Court Bench and Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal in Visakhapatnam.
Speaking on the occasion, State BAR Council Vice-Chairperson K Ramajogeswara Rao said that many problems of the State were remained unresolved. He said that the government should issue health cards for lawyers and remove hurdles in issue of lands.
If the government failed to address their needs, the lawyers said that they would intensify their stir. BAR Council members B Arun Kumar, S Krishna Mohan, P Narasinga Rao, Visakha BAR Association Director B Ramakrishna, Correspondent Anuradha and others took part in the protest.
