Police meet on election issues held in Kakinada
Kakinada: A special meeting of police officers was organised at the East Godavari district police office here on Thursday evening to discuss about the preparedness for ensuing elections.
Addressing the meeting of sub-divisional police officers circle inspectors, sub-inspectors at the conference hall, District Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni alerted them on issues relating to free and fair elections in the district.
The SP directed them to file book binding cases on history sheeters and persons with bad conduct. He also directed them to take licensed guns into their possession besides issuing non-bailable warrants in strict accordance.
The SP also directed the police officers to keep a special vigil on sensitive and hypersensitive areas to avoid any incidents of violence during polls.
Vishal Gunni also directed the police officers to check the polling routes and polling booths in troublesome areas.
He asked them to work in coordination with revenue and other stakeholder departments.
The SP warned them of stringent action, if any negligence was noticed in discharging their duties.
