3 youth die as motorbike rams into lorry on highway
Visakhapatnam: Three youngsters died on the spot in ghastly road accident on the National Highway-16 at Dharmavaram village under S Rayavaram mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Tuesday.
According to the police, the deceased were identified as K Karthik (22), R Naveen(21) and K Sai (24. They were the natives of S Rayavaram area. The three were going on a motorcycle towards Yelamanchili with high speed. When they reached NH-16, the bike rider while trying to overtake a lorry lost control and the bike went under the lorry.
The lorry driver who was unaware of the mishap had driven lorry for about 3 kms from the spot. The bodies of Karthik and Naveen were jammed to the rear side of the lorry and were dragged along with the vehicle.
Locals raised an alarm and alerted the driver near Purushothapuram village and stopped the lorry. The body of Sai was found at Pulaparthi village near S Rayavaram. Police moved the bodies to Anakapalli NTR hospital for postmortem. A case was registered and investigation is on.
