Agri Gold victims asked to get ready for verification

Ongole: The Prakasam district police officials asked the victims of Agri Gold, who made deposits of less than Rs 10,000 to prepare to visit the District Legal Services Authority and submit their details to establish their identity before processing the payment as ordered by the High Court.

The DPO Ongole forwarded the note by the Additional DGP, CID and informed that the government sanctioned Rs 250 crore on February 7, as an immediate mitigating measure to provide solace to the Agri Gold depositors of Andhra Pradesh, who deposited Rs 10000 and below. 

On February 8, the High Court directed the district legal services authorities to verify the original fixed deposit receipts and process claims for making the payment to the depositors.

The Prakasam district police asked the depositors who deposited Rs 10000 and below to prepare to approach the DLSA along with their original fixed deposit receipts/ bonds, Aadhaar cards, bank passbook, and any identification card and submit them for the verification. The DPO said that the date and place will be intimated soon.
