BCI demands govt fulfil poll promises in Pithapuram

Pithapuram: Responding to a call given by Bar Council of India (BCI), members of Pithapuram Bar Association took up a rally from court to Tahsildar office here on Tuesday. 

Later addressing the Media, Association president P Bhanumurthy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made poll promises of allotting Rs 5,000 crore to the welfare of advocates annually, monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000 to junior lawyers and facilities such as internet, toilets and library at bar association’s offices.

But Modi failed fulfil his assurances after coming into the power, he alleged. 

The Association president demanded the government to implement the poll promises immediately. 

Association general secretary AKV Reddy, treasurer PVSR Murthy, joint secretary B Ramakrishna, women representatives M Satyavathi and V Kamalalaya, BL Dora, Nagesh, Ramesh Chandra, Raja Rao, D Srinu, K Nukaraju, Prakash, G Suresh, K Suresh, Ramesh, Saka Nageswara Rao, Saride Nageswara Rao, Mummidi Srinu and Krishna Veena were present.
