2,600 receive degrees at KLU convocation in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The 8th Convocation of KL University was held on a grand note on Wednesday. About 2,600 students received their Degree Certificates on the occasion.
Recipient of Padmavibhushan N R Narayana Murthy and Padmasri Yadlapalli Venkateswara Rao were the chief guests of the occasion and were honoured with the Honorary Doctorates.
Addressing the gathering, Infosys Founder Chairman Narayana Murthy said that the development of the country is in the hands of the youth.
He stated that India has become the world’s software centre and all the countries are looking for the Indian made ‘gems’ to develop software in several categories.
Murthy also opined that in the next 30 years, India will develop in all the sectors and the living standards will be increased in the country and the confidence levels will also increase in India.
Rythu Nestam Foundation chairman Y Venkateswara Rao said that students should maintain moralities in life.
Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation president Koneru Satyanarayana delivered the convocation Speech.
Chancellor Dr SS Mantha, Vice-Chancellor Dr LSS Reddy and others also addressed the students.
University President Koneru Satyanarayana and Chancellor Dr SS Mantha presented the Doctorates to both the guests Narayana Murthy and Yeadlapalli Venkateswara Rao.
