5L farmers to benefit under Sukhibhava in Guntur dist
Guntur: The government will transfer Rs 2,200 crore to Rs 2,500 crore to 5 lakh farmers under the 4th and 5th installment of the crop loan waiver scheme and Annadata Sukhibhava Scheme in next three months to extend helping hand to farmers.
Similarly, another 11,35,651 farmers will get benefit under Annadata Sukhibahava Scheme. According to the sources in agriculture department, the government will clear fourth and fifth installment of crop loan waiver within next three months.
The government is planning to make fourth installment of Rs 1,000 crore to farmers in the district. Similarly, under Annadata Suhibhava Scheme, the government will extend financial assistance of Rs 1,200 crore to Rs 1,500 crore.
There are 11,35,651 farmers in the district including 3,75,000 tenant farmers. About 73,295 farmers have more than five acres of land in the district. Over 5,36,291 farmers are having between 2.5 acre to 5 acres of land, similarly 1,51,065 farmers are having below 2.5 acres of land. Under the scheme, the government will give Rs 5,000 financial assistance and another Rs 5,000 will be paid for kharif.
The Central and State government will give Rs 10,000 to farmers in two installments and the officials are waiting for guidelines from the government. The district administration will soon start process to identify the farmers to extend helping hand under the Annadata Sukhibhava Scheme.
The farmers will be identified based on pattadar passbooks, land revenue payment receipts, based on crop loans taken from banks and cooperative societies, and beneficiaries of crop loan waiver scheme and based on identity cards given to tenant farmers.
The officials in the agriculture commissionarate informed that the government will make first installment of Annadata Sukhibhava Scheme before March-end. Joint director of agriculture department G Vijaya Bharati said, "The government is having 85 per cent data of farmers.
Principal secretary of agriculture B Rajasekhar entrusted the responsibility of collecting data of farmers to make payments under the RTGS. They will start process very soon."
