Leopard mauls 3, locked up in a hut

Kakinada: The leopard which disappeared few days ago in Atreyapuram mandal surfaced again on the suburbs of Gadellanka and Thanelanka villages in Mummidivaram mandal on Thursday morning.

According to sources, three persons sustained  injuries in the attack by leopard near Gadellanka village.  As the tension mounted with large number of people chasing it, the animal entered a house at  Thenelanka village.

The residents ran out of the  house bolting it from outside. “We are trying since the afternoon to tranquilise  the leopard which is hiding  in the house. We covered the house with nets and hoping to catch the animal at any moment,” said East Godavari divisional forest officer Nandini Salaria late on Thursday evening.
