Somireddy wants speedy completion of Mega Seed Park

 Kurnool: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy directed the officials concerned to speed up the works of Mega Seed Park at Thangadancha in Jupadu Bungalow village in the district. Along with district collector S Satyanarayana, he  reviewed the status of mega seed park works at the state guest house here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandramohan Reddy said the detailed project report with an estimated cost of Rs 315.34 crore was approved for the project. Even administrative sanction had been accorded to the works for lying of internal roads with a cost of Rs 27.35 crore, construction of compound wall at a cost of Rs.16.50 crores and electrical substation of 33/11 KV capacity that would be set up at a cost of Rs.7.66 crores, Somireddy said. He further asked the officials to invite tenders for other works by the end of this month.

Somireddy asked the joint director of agriculture (JDA) Tagore Naik to take necessary steps for constructing 17 farm ponds to ensure enhancing of ground water levels. He also suggested that superintending engineer of irrigation department to take up the repairing of sluices so that water could be drawn from the Kurnool-Cuddapah (KC) canal. 

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mega Seed Park Prasanthi explained the progress of works at the park through a power point presentation. Agriculture commissioner Muralidhar Reddy, Kurnool MLA S V Mohan Reddy and others were present.
