Ravivalasa temple to get facelift soon
Srikakulam: Noted Shiva temple Endala Mallikarjuna Swamy at Ravivalasa in Tekkali mandal will get facelift soon with all required infrastructure facilities. The Endowment and Tourism departments are jointly taking beautification works with Rs 1.95 crore around the temple puskarini (tank) with a road, cement benches for sitting and plantation of saplings to improve greenery.
A road leading to temple from Ravivalasa village also got funds for its modernisation and extension. A mantapam is also proposed for free movement of devotees. The Shivalingam formed at Ravivalasa is growing up every year and as per local history, the shivalingam should be in open air to get sunlight freely and continuously. With this reason, the shiva temple is well known as Endala Mallikarjunudu.
The temple is witnessing heavy rush of pilgrims during two auspicious occasions, Kaarthika and Maagha maasams every year. Particularly on third Monday during Kaarthika Maasam a large number of devotees throng the temple to have darshan of Lord Shiva.
Officials are also unable to clear rush of devotees during auspicious days due to lack of facilities. “As part of improvement of temple tourism, the State government sanctioned funds for Ravivalasa temple and works are going on at brisk pace here” said temple EO G Gurunadha Rao
