FMD vaccination from Feb 20
Vijayawada: The Animal Husbandry Department director Dr G Somasekharam here on Tuesday informed that a two-day vaccination programme for the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), a highly contagious viral disease among the cattle would be carried free across the state on February 20 and 21.
He informed that the animal husbandry staff would come to the house of the farmers and administer the vaccine to the cattle. Somasekharam said that due to FMD disease in cattle, the production of milk would drastically come down.
To overcome the disease, the department would take up a two-day vaccination drive across the state.
He appealed to all the people to get their livestock vaccinated for FMD without getting influenced by any myths.
