Ramakrishna Mission conducts workshop for school principals
Visakhapatnam: Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama organised a workshop on ‘The Awakened Citizen Program’ for the correspondents, principals and representatives of various schools near RK Beach on Thursday. The aim of workshop was to give insights of ‘The Awakened Citizen Program', which was designed in a discussion oriented model for school students.
In the programme, the students were made to analyse various explorations, real life situations and role models to understand, think and reflect by discussing and discovering the consequences of various choices they have. The idea behind the programme was to make children build decision making framework in their lives.
The program was adopted in 4,600 schools across the country so far and nearly 17,000 teachers were trained for the purpose. Since the program does not impose any do’s and don’ts on the students, and enables them to discover values, develop faith in themselves and make responsible choices, students along with teachers and parents gave positive feedback about the impact of program on children.
