TDP starts picking candidates for Assembly polls

Amaravati: The TDP on Thursday finalised the names of former MLC B Chengalrayudu from Rajampet Assembly constituency, N Kishore Kumar Reddy, brother of former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy from Pilair, Ramesh Kumar Reddy from Rayachoti and Anusha Reddy from Punganur constituency.

Among other names that were said to have been finalised on Thursday are Narsimha Prasad, nephew of MP Sivaprasad. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who held constituency-wise review, is said to have cleared these names. As far as other names are concerned, Naidu is expected to make an announcement next week.

The selection is being based on the opinion received from the people about the prospective candidates through IVRS system and other survey reports, local conditions, community and caste calculations.

Naidu would soon hold a meeting with leaders from Assembly constituencies in Kadapa district. Former minister D L Ravindra Reddy met Naidu on Wednesday night and staked his claim. TTD chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav is also eyeing the same seat.
