Amit Shah’s remarks: Chandrababu Naidu demands unconditional apology

Amaravati: TDP national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu dared BJP president Amit Shah to prove the allegations levelled against him. Naidu said if the BJP chief failed to prove his charges then he should tender unconditional apology to him in public.

In an open letter written to Shah on Friday, Chandrababu Naidu took exception to the comments made by the BJP chef that he had more faith in Pakistan Prime Minister than the Indian Prime Minister.

In the letter Naidu said Shah was bringing politics to a new low by his baseless charges against the Opposition leaders. Naidu pointed out that Shah had mentioned during his speech in Rajamahendravaram on Thursday that the TDP, TMC and Congress leaders were doing politics over the sacrifices made by CRPF personnel in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. 

The Chief Minister said by making such comments, Amit Shah was indulging in mud-slinging against the Opposition leaders. Naidu reiterated that the terrorist attack in Pulwama took place due to the failure of intelligence in the country.

The TDP leader stated that, “During 2013 terrorists attack when Manmohan Singh was Prime Minister, the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi questioned the failure of intelligence.” 

Naidu further asked, “When the entire country is in PM Modi’s hands, how are hawala transactions happening? Why is the Prime Minister not able to prevent terrorists’ infiltration? The entire army and soil is in your hands. But terror attacks are recurring. Is it not failure of intelligence? Then why the PM is not tendering resignation to his post.”

The TDP leader found fault with Amit Shah and other BJP leaders for considering his demand as anti-nationalism and when the same demand came from Narendra Modi earlier it was treated as patriotism. 

Despite claiming patriotism, the BJP leaders and Prime Minister himself were directly involved in the Rafale scandal and tarnished the image of India across the globe, Naidu alleged. 

The Chief Minister said while the entire country was mourning over the death of more than 40 CRPF personnel on February 14, Modi was busy in shooting for a TV channel.
