GVL Narasimha Rao predicts TDP rout in polls

Vijayawada: BJP senior leader and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao said the TDP would be defeated in the ensuing Assembly elections and the people of Andhra Pradesh are ready to defeat the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Addressing media conference in a hotel on Friday, Narsimha Rao alleged that the state government was not disclosing the figures of grants released by the Union government for the welfare schemes and developmental works.

He said the Union government had allocated Rs 6,700 crore for Polavaram project but the state government was not revealing it to the people. The MP said many facts related to the release of grants from the Union government are coming out with the visit of BJP president Amit Shah to Andhra Pradesh. He said the TDP government was giving wide publicity to Chandranna Bima as its own while it was the Central government scheme.

Defending YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, the BJP leader said the TDP leaders were raising a hue and cry on the visit of Jaganmohan Reddy to London. “TDP ministers visited Dubai, Singapore and other countries several occasions. Did they visit other countrie to collect the funds for elections?,” he said and predicted that TDP would disappear in the state after the elections and pointed out that even MPs were deserting the party for YSRCP.
