Role of coach depot crucial in preventing mishaps

Tirupati: The member, Rolling Stock of Railway Board Rajesh Agrawal has inaugurated the IOH (Intermediate Overhauling) shed extension and ladies rest room in coach depot here on Friday evening. 

Speaking on the occasion, he asked the coach depot team to get updated from time to time. The role of coach depot team in preventing accidents was crucial and they should work as a team always. 

Rajesh announced a cash award of Rs 50,000 to Tirupati coach depot team for their efficiency. He also inaugurated, the disposable napkins in air-conditioned coaches and automatic toilet seat cover dispenser to be used in train compartments. This dispenser was meant for providing improved hygienic condition to the passengers. With this, every time they use the lavatory, an automatic toilet seat cover dispenser will be used. 

Upon pressing a button, the machine rolls out a fresh seat cover and it can be refilled, and each refill seat contains 150 seat covers made of bio-degradable virgin plastic and creates no environmental concerns. They will be used on trial basis in one or two trains. 

Guntakal DRM Vijay Prathap Singh, Chief Mechanical Engineer Arjun Mundiya, Senior DME P Madhusudhan Rao, Coaching Depot Officer Nithin Pachouri, R Mallikarjun, T Prasad, G Rammohan and others were present.
